A new report, “Central Bank Digital Currency? What it is and how it could impact your privacy, security, and autonomy,” has been published by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF). The report’s author, Ben Klassen, looks at how the adoption of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in Canada could undermine the rights and freedoms of Canadians, including their privacy, autonomy, security, equality, and access to economic participation. Considering that new Liberal Party leader, Mark Carney, is a fan, this future could be here sooner than expected, unless Canadians push back….
