Five Times August is the solo project of musician Brad Skistimas. In early 2021 Skistimas saw the writing on the wall as the Covid scam was rolled out, and he used his platform as an artist to speak out, releasing a series of protest songs, like "Sad Little Man" and “God Help Us All,” pushing back against the mandates and criticizing those pushing them, including the mainstream musicians and bands who fell in line.
I spoke with him about how he was able to see what was going on so early on, what happened when he spoke out, and why he refuses to let it go.
The Same Drugs is a fully independent podcast hosted and produced by me! I rely on subscribers to do this work and to survive — for just six dollars a month, you gain early access to all episodes; exclusive access to video content, subscriber-only chats, paywalled articles, and more! But most of all, you enable me to continue producing independent, authentic, honest work, free from corporate, political, and Russian interference, straight from my heart and soul.
