How I became a far right extremist
My talk from the WeUnify event in Victoria, B.C. on September 24, 2024
I spoke at an event put on by WeUnify on Tuesday, before heading off to the land of the free. Below is my original talk, which of course became slightly altered as I spoke out loud to the audience, as always.

Thanks everyone for coming out tonight. I’m heading to Texas then back to Mexico later this week, and honestly never know, when I leave Canada, if I’ll be back again. So I’m glad to see you all here, perhaps for the last time, depending on whether Canadians continue to vote for authoritarians and communists.
I used to think Canada was the greatest country in the world, but then I became a far right extremist.
That’s what all my old socialist, feminist friends call me anyway. In Canada, anyone who thinks only women can get pregnant, who doesn’t think the best way to stay healthy is by avoiding fresh air and human interaction, or doesn’t believe that buying an EV is going to save the planet, or that we can change the weather through taxes, or who knows that free speech is imperative in a democracy, even if that speech isn’t speech we like, is a “far right extremist,” so I’m always torn about whether I should just embrace the term or continue to insist that I actually just like things like life and joy and freedom.
I think I’m in a unique situation, which offers me special insight into the circumstances we’ve found ourselves in as Canadians. I understand the leftists who think we’re bad, selfish, stupid people for fighting the lockdowns and vaccine mandates, for suggesting the NDP are dangerous elitists who don’t give a rat’s ass about the working class, or that not one vote should go to any politician who can’t define a woman as an adult human female.
