I often feel like I’m struggling against mysterious unmovable forces. Sometimes I chalk feelings and questions like — why is _____ making bank and not me? Or where did this person come from and why are they constantly in my algorithm and why do they have millions of YouTube subscribers and a sus background? Who are all the millions fascinated by this streamer/content creator/podcaster and why I do not get it? — up to jealousy. To be fair, that feeling is probably the most rational. I would like to have more money than I do, and that more money would likely come along with a bigger audience. But then I also have to remind myself that I have the life and income I do by choice, and mostly like it that way. Yes, more money is nice, but no, I don’t really want to do the things you usually have to do to make huge sums of money.

I like to keep things simple, I like being independent, it’s important to me that I have full control over what I do and produce, and am not swayed by Russians offering me $400,000 a month to produce videos supporting their political aims.
