I had the pleasure of meeting author and (sadly) ex-poet,
, at the Battle of Ideas Festival in London a couple of weeks ago. She interviewed me for a piece in The Times, reflecting on my own cancellation and visit to Scotland, to warn of the harms of gender identity ideology, based on my experience in Canada.Jenny had a successful career in the arts as a poet and events programmer in Scotland when she made the mistake of challenging threats of violence against lesbians at Pride London. She was not just cancelled, but “hounded,” in her words. This would eventually become the title of her book, Hounded: Women, Harms, and the Gender Wars, published last year.
I spoke with her about her experience and what she learned about how women are treated in the gender identity debate.
