I completely agree that the way mental health is treated and thought about is not helping basically anyone, but the idea that schizophrenics would get better if they just got more sleep is a notion so stupid that it defies description.
I know a schizophrenic once. All he did was sleep. In the rare moments he was awake he complained about how there were people in the bushes watching him.
