Have to disagree with you on this one. Are dating apps better than meeting someone in person? No. But to say “they don’t work” is pretty exaggerated. I’ve met people in person. I’ve met people on apps. 🤷🏼♀️ Should you rely on them exclusively? That would not be my recommendation. Can you use them while still acknowledging their shortcomings? Why not.
My partner and I met on Hinge. He lived an hour away from me and I’m confident we would have never crossed paths otherwise. We are very happy & looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
I know that they work for some people, but for the vast majority… it’s a racket. The point of the apps is to keep people on the apps, swiping away… It just seems like a massive waste of time and energy to me, never mind the toxicity! I just don’t think the tradeoff for people and society is good, is all.
