Great interview, Meghan. It is disgraceful what happened to Dallas Brodie and Conservative leader John Rustad should be ashamed of himself. At this point, do we really need to go out of our way to say there might have been 200 children buried on the grounds of the former Kamloops residential school? (The original number of 215 children was quickly downgraded to 200, but it is surprising how persistently the 215 estimate keeps being cited.) By now you would think that if even a third of that number were buried on the grounds there, social media would have been full of relatives of those children writing that their loved one was buried there and how dare anyone doubt the narrative. I haven't heard of one such case. And the government never should have allocated such lavish resources to excavating sites of alleged burials. Our Liberal government sure knows how to waste the taxpayers' money.
There is an irony here that went unmentioned. Rustad got punted from the BC Liberals because he questioned climate change science, which is increasingly recognized as a giant dishonest grift (see Michael Mann's hockey stick graph, or anything Al Gore ever said). And on that he built the new Conservative Party in BC. Now he is booting someone out of his new party for challenging a different giant dishonest grift. This suggests that suffering these events does not automatically make one stronger, although it clear did in your case MM. The hypocrisy is monumental. That only two of her colleagues walked out the door with Dallas Brodie tells me everything I need to know about this cabal of Justin Trudeau wannabes. I actually donated money and voted for them last time. Now I'm glad they lost. Best wishes to MS.Brodie.
I hadn't realized this but this is super disappointing, considering! I feel like cancellation gave me a super amplified sensitivity to the cancellation of anyone at all... I would never do to someone else what has been done to me... How strange he doesn't see things this way?
