hello from Fox news land..I am a gay liberal woman who has been an entertainment reporter for them for 8 years. I have met Tucker, and he is not a misogynist or a racist (not sure about his abortion stance). He does not want women in kitchens, he can be snarky and opinionated. As can many tv hosts. But the idea of Fox as some hotbed of right wing racist is yet another media myth, and I get it, when I arrived there so many years ago, I thought the same thing. But that was because I listened to what others said, I watched the edited clips the left wing media posted (I also worked at NPR and CBS and NBC) and then I started to watch it (fox) and listen to their arguments. Some were compelling, others weren't. If you are a strong, centered adult human female, with a good grasp on your moral center you will understand we are constantly being manipulated. It's gonna be up to you to go out and listen to those you think oppose you, really listen, you'd be surprised we are not as divided as they'd like you to believe.
This is my sense also. I don't watch the news much in general, to be honest, and while I do watch Tucker clips here and there (I find him pretty entertaining and compelling, and have never got an asshole vibe from him), I am not such an avid watcher I feel qualified to determine one way or the other.
He referred to Iraqis as semiliterate primitive monkeys, this after the West had killed some 1 million Iraqis, including around half a million children, illegally invaded and occupied the country. He defended the marriage of 12/13 year old girls as not rape because the rapist made a lifelong commitment to live and take care of the girls. He referred to the comments on child rape as "naughty" and refused any kind of "ritual contrition", which I assume is what he was calling acknowledging and taking responsibility for his actions.
The Left: forced “vaccines” and lockdowns, sterilization and mutilation of children, anti free speech, pro porn, pro prostitution, pro men are women - Anti women and anti children. I’m sorry, I fail to see how these are the good pure people. The left has become corporate bootlicking shills for big pharma and big tech censorship. Maybe time to deal with reality. The left/right divide is a lie. It’s sanity and rationality vs hostility to science and truth.

It is maddening. You can't fight identity politics while still applying it to yourself. Allies are never perfect, allies are often not even your friends. But allies always help win wars.
And if feminists don't get over their teen aged peevishness, the Right is going to be declared the sole victor in the gender identity war. If they manage to win on their own, that is. The perception that this is purely a Left/Right conflict isn't helping. And there are some Republicans in the US Congress who are willing to sign off on anti discriminatory trans rights legislation so long as religious organizations are exempt. They're willing to separate out their own special interest groups for protection and make the rest of us to submit to the gender identity chaos.
I think you are right. I don't think you should block people out just because you disagree with some of their views. If they are willing to engage then engage and make your point. I don't think you'll make progress just talking to people you already agree with. That's what the opposition do. I'm in the UK and I don't know much about Tucker Carlson but if he's eager to talk to you then good on him, go talk with him.
Thank you for this. I was one of the commenters who suggested that they reconsider refusing the invitation from Tucker Carlson. ( KJK has appeared on Tucker's show. as well as Kara Dansky) This is a war, I want to win the war, especially for all of the women I do not like. I will appear on the same stage as anyone to publicize this genderist tsunami that is going to swallow us whole if we don't stop it soon. This is no time for purity politics and discussions on abortion, BLM, the convoy, vaccines etc.
Pragmatism will rule the day, as it always has. I refuse to be a righteous loser, preaching to the choir. BTW, I thought Matt Walsh's film was excellent. Thanks, again Meghan for this piece.
I've been on Tucker's show too. It's just a media outlet. British feminists may simply not understand American media, but either way it's a ridiculous approach to getting your message out. I thought Walsh's film was good too, despite the fact I think he's a disingenuous, sexist dick :)
Julie seems to be worried that if you spend too much time around the Matt Walsh/Tuckers of the world, you'll find yourself nodding along that women *do* belong in the kitchen after all. Seems far-fetched to me.
i like being in the kitchen anyway. enjoying the domestic sphere doesn't rule out enjoying a whole lot of other stuff and to think so only divides us. there isn't any left or right. only humanity.
I think both Walsh and Carlson are disingenuous, among other things. His film was clever, wry, and engaging for a wide audience. I think you are right that British Feminists do not understand American media. I have started but not finished the AHF film so as yet I have no comment on it.
If more feminists thought like you we probably would not be STILL fighting for safe “women’s only” spaces. But no, the others are seemingly more concerned with maintaining their activist caricatures then actually making progress.
Working only within the ideological tent of those who blindly stab us in the back is time consuming, exhausting and stupid when the damage spreads even as we fight it.
At that point using platforms that amplify our message is a practical necessity, not a capitulation, and will get the attention PRONTO of those who have, with impunity, taken our votes for granted.
To quote a famous politician: "If you get them by the balls their hearts and minds will follow."

True! def. far fetched.

I simply cannot understand people like Julie. She proffers a recipe for losing, losing, losing.
