Kevin Bardosh on the consequences of Covid policy in Canada

On the podcast, I speak with lead author of a paper entitled, “The Unintended Consequences of COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: Why mandates, passports, and segregated lockdowns may cause more harm than good"

Despite the fact most have moved on (or have attempted to, in any case) from Covid fear, things like vaccine mandates, the ArriveCan app, quarantines, and fines for those who fail to follow Canada's ongoing Covid protocols remain. Moreover, Trudeau's Liberal government has yet to acknowledge the enormous harms done by Covid lockdowns and associated policies, including vaccine mandates and bans on gathering, protests, and travel.

Kevin Bardosh is a social scientist, affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington’s School of Public Health, and lead author of a paper published in February, called, “The Unintended Consequences of COVID-19 Vaccine Policy: Why mandates, passports, and segregated lockdowns may cause more harm than good.”

I spoke with him about what he found in his research and how COVID vaccine policies and lockdown measures, framed as efforts to protect people from serious illness and death, were in fact counterproductive and damaging to public health.
