In this episode, I speak with Philip Slayton, past PEN Canada president and author of 'Antisemitism: An Ancient Hatred in the Age of Identity Politics'
Prof. Slayton seems to me to be naive in the extreme, very academic and seriously divorced from the real world. I am curious what Batya Ungar-Sargon would make of him. Some opinions make me wonder if the individuals expressing them have ever read a book. In this case, I am wondering if he ever did anything else. Hamas is a pre-civilizational death cult. Most Palestinians support it. Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. "From the River to the Sea" is a call for eliminating any Jewish presence in Israel (preferably by murder, which the cult sees as some kind of Allah supported sacrament). Slayton seems to want to soften the evil in all by arguing about words like he is in an Oxford common room.. That has been tried before. It leads to slaughter. Never again.
