Last week, leaked files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), considered the “leading global transgender healthcare body,” revealed that the clinicians who shape how so-called “gender medicine” is regulated and practiced around the world have been blatantly and knowingly ignoring medical ethics and informed consent all along.

Many of us who have been following this issue are aware of the harms of putting kids on puberty blockers and hormones, never mind the experimental surgeries that destroy otherwise healthy bodies for life. But the public-facing claim is that these treatments constitute “health care,” are safe, are life-saving, and are medically necessary.

Not only is none of this true, but the clinicians responsible seem aware these practices are all experimental and have harmful, lifelong impacts, destroying the possibility of having a family or a normal intimate relationships down the line.

I spoke with Mia Hughes, a journalist who covered gender identity ideology and the transitioning of kids for The Post Millennial before connecting with Michael Shellenberger, founder ofPublic, who tasked her with the WPATH Files report, published by US-based think tank, Environmental Progress.

It remains to be seen whether medical bodies and the government will take these findings seriously, but either way what has been revealed and what many have been raising the alarm about for years is no longer deniable.
