It’s absolutely crazy. I’m many years into this now and I still can’t get my head around the delusions these organisations, police and governments have to buy into in order to come to the (frankly bizarre) conclusion that women who are against gender ideology are the ones who are a threat (are there any genuine recorded incidents of violence from ‘our’ side?) when there have been a multitude of incidents, as you pointed out, of trans rights activists and their supporters inciting violence and issuing death threats.

Back when I organised, at one of the fairly local, relatively small events, we had backlash from a tiny group of online TRAs who plotted to disrupt the event and encouraged violence. They ended up graffitiing the building and we had to have a police escort to the location (thankfully the building owners supported us). The local MP supported THEM and set up a drop-in session for the day of our event for TRAs to attend if they feel unsafe! 🤯And since that time I’ve only seen the threats to women escalate. What will it take for this to be treated seriously? I think we all know the answer to that - women could be killed and we still wouldn’t be taken seriously. It shows how this issue is fundamentally a women’s issue, and hence why the madness has gone on for so long - in society’s eyes, women don’t matter.

It’s so deeply disturbing to me that so many people are unable to critically think and assess what is going on here, even when the evidence is photographed and videoed for the world to see. Perhaps the hatred for women automatically leads many to take the opposing side to what mostly women are saying (including women who still prefer to throw other women under the bus than swallow the reality that they too are hated) - the default is to write us off as shrill, hysterical harpies.

On a regular basis I wake up and wonder if the world has gone mad. I don’t know a voice on this side of the fight who hasn’t lost friends and loved ones because of simply refusing to pretend reality doesn’t exist. People who I have otherwise considered smart, rational, logic-based people, have stood in front of me bemused and parroted ‘but trans women are women’ as a response to any sound reasoning showing otherwise, unable to see they are elevating men’s rights over women’s basic right to exist. I think it’s this, more than anything else, that leaves me cold - the idea that supposedly sane people are skipping down this rhetorical path and can’t see that it leads to hell. I believe it shows the utter infallibility of people and makes it so clear how a world can end up in war over the craziest of things.

Thank you for being such a bright light in this madness, Meghan. And please, please, stay safe. 🙏

Indeed it is! I think it's that there are (sadly) a hell of a lot of people who care more about being pat on the head for 'right' politicking than they do about actually doing the right thing. I think they probably delude themselves into believing we are the enemy and that trans are in constant danger, but more than that I think they just like to be viewed as 'good people', which means hating 'transphobes.'

Megan! Thank you for standing firm. I know how hard it is, how much we stand to lose-- by telling the truth and insisting on respect and freedom for women. I'm sorry and incandescent with rage that you and other women have endured these insane attacks. sending love your way.

Oh thank you for your words and support! I know you've also been through hell standing up on this issue. I hate what the university put you through and hope somehow, some day, they are held accountable.

Very much agree when you state re CSIS and others: "I will consider these organizations and our government more broadly as nothing more than ideological arms of a terrorist group."

Thanks for another cogent article, Meghan. It's excellent proof that "DEI" doesn't stand for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Rather, it stands for domination, extremism, and intimidation.

I had to take some time to respond this article in order for my blood pressure to return to normal. It is women who are being attacked. We are not the ones who disrupt events where we speak up for ourselves and on behalf of children. The hate is coming from those trans activists who accuse us of hate speech.

We must get rid of a government which, while claiming to be feminist in its early years (which it was not) is now demonstratively working to deny our very existence.

It took some time for me to be able to compose myself enough to write this. I was shaking with rage.

I think we need to look at this problem as a Complex System. Being threated and protested by TRAs are just a symptom of a bigger societal problem.

Firstly we need to realize that we live in Perrie Elliot Trudeaus Canada not John A. MacDonalds Canada. This is important because we need to understand how society interprets Human Rights. In John As Canada we have/had Natural Rights. These are God given. Only God can take them away, for example Free Speech/Expression. In Trudeaus Canada you have Civil Rights which are State given and can be taken away. For example, Women's Rights. These are specific and not universal. It should be obvious why there are men who, by law, have no gender specifc rights trying to be women who have, by law, gender specific rights. Natural Rights and Civil Rights are in contention to each other. It seems Civil Rights are getting the enforcemen.

Secondly, constantly talking about womens rights ignores the problem that men and boys have. What if you expanded your language to address both sexes problems, you could garner more support by including the other half of the population. The youngest generation of boys is beyond tired of listening about girls and womens problems. Its meaningless to them. You have nearly no support from them in the future.

If we want to see CSIS go after the actual terrorist groups we need to remove this feminist government and remove the radical feminist elements, both people and philosophies, in the buracracy and law enforcement that say its okay for TRAs to behave this way. Maybe then we can see some movement into solving the problem.

I talk about 'women's rights' only in this context, because we are talking about the errosion of sex-based rights and protections... In general, I want freedom for all!

This is not a feminist government. quite the opposite, in fact. I'm gonna explore this further in my own substack, when I can figure out how to use it...

The irony is not lost on me here…I truly believe that both in Canada and the U.S., alternative lifestyles had until recently (last 3-5 years) been just accepted by society as a general rule (not necessarily legal)…with that being said…all the progress for same sex marriage’s, and overall acceptance has been dealt a blow by this “trans” movement…people are tired of it especially when it’s pushed on them (don’t get me started on our children)…anyone who thinks that’s it’s ok for a man to compete against a women is just not facing reality that it is not. This is just crazy and to think that our government’s protect their rights over those of females is atrocious…it is so absurd but then big pharma makes a lot of money on peddling drugs for “transitioning”…as with everything it all ends up being about greed, power and control…damn the common sense…full speed ahead…reminds of a twist to an old story…2 men were stranded on an island…the only two beings on our planet and they needed to repopulate our world…no matter how much either of them kept on saying I am a woman and I can get pregnant…it did no good…alas…they died as did our civilization…🤷‍♂️

Whoa, when I read the headline I thought CSIS (the Center for Strategic and International Studies) was attacking activists like Meghan, not CSIS (the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service). Sorry, non-Canadian here. Great article though, I'm still getting through it. Hey, why don't they just rename your country Tranada and be done with it? 😃
